1. Who we are
This website (northsharks.com) is operated by Northsharks Technologies (“we”, “us”, “our”). For any privacy question or request, contact us at contact@northsharks.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Inquiry and consultation forms: your name, business email, phone number, company name, the service you are interested in, your estimated budget and your project description.
- Job applications: your name, email, phone number, the role you are applying for, an optional profile link, your message and your resume/CV.
- Consultation bookings: your name, email, phone number, company, chosen time, time zone, meeting type and notes.
- Website assistant (chatbot): the messages you type. If you choose to send your details to our team, we also receive your name, email, optional phone/company and a short summary of the conversation.
- Direct communication: information you share when you email, call or message us on WhatsApp.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the website securely. We use IP addresses temporarily to limit repeated form submissions and prevent abuse.
We use Google Analytics only if you accept it in our consent banner; advertising features are disabled. We record security events (such as repeated failed sign-ins) with IP addresses stored only as one-way hashes. See our Cookie Policy.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry, arrange consultations and prepare proposals.
- To provide and manage services you engage us for.
- To assess job applications and contact candidates.
- To keep the website secure and prevent spam and misuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that affects you.
4. Legal basis and consent
We process information you submit through our forms on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the consent checkbox, and as needed to take steps at your request before entering into a contract. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us. We aim to handle personal data in line with applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and — where it applies to you — the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation.
5. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us operate, under appropriate confidentiality obligations:
- Website hosting and database hosting — to serve this website and securely store inquiries and bookings.
- AI provider (OpenAI) — to generate the website assistant's replies. Please don't share sensitive personal information in the chat.
- Google — Google Calendar to schedule consultations you book, and Google Analytics if you consent to analytics.
- Transactional email delivery — to deliver form submissions to our team's inbox.
- Email and communication providers — the services we use to receive and reply to your messages.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside India. Where this happens, we rely on providers that apply recognized safeguards to protect personal information.
7. How long we keep information
We keep inquiry information for as long as needed to respond to you and for legitimate business records. We keep job applications for as long as needed for the recruitment process and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can consider you for future roles, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
8. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion of your information;
- withdraw consent; and
- raise a grievance about how your information is handled.
To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@northsharks.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), server-side validation, access controls and spam protection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review our safeguards regularly.
10. Children
This website is intended for businesses and job seekers aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last revised.
